OVERVIEW
Free Working Programs - All seaBILL programs can be downloaded for free from this web
site. The free downloads are REAL,
WORKING, NETWORK-READY PROGRAMS. They are the EXACT SAME PROGRAMS on the CD you will receive with your order.
During the free trial period, with minor exceptions for security reasons, they
actually work and will run across your network.
You can enter sample data and print sample bills.
During the free trial period, the bills will print with a watermark which will
not print once a password has been entered. (Obviously, you shouldn't enter
actual billing data until you have decided the program meets your needs and
purchased a license and successfully entered the password.)
Time Limit - While the free programs on the web and on the CD are real, working programs, they
will eventually 'time out'. In other words, they quit working after the free evaluation period (35 days) has
passed. After 35 days, you'll need to purchase a password to keep using the
program. This means you can try the programs and actually use them to see if they meet your needs BEFORE you spend any money
and enter any actual billing data. If they work for you, you can buy them with confidence. If they don't work for you, just delete them.
DETAILS
Ordering is easy - If you have downloaded a program or received a free CD and tried
a program and want to buy it, simply order it on the
seaBILL Secure Web Store.
If you include the unique serial number from the upper right of the first screen of the program you're ordering, we'll email your unique password
immediately after your order has been successfully processed.
No waiting - This means you don't have to wait for a package to arrive in the mail to keep using the program. The password
removes the time limit ON THE COPY YOU'VE BEEN USING and enables any optional
features you purchased (such as more biller codes, networking, etc.) and you just continue using the program you already have. There is nothing else to install or to wait for (although we still send you a CD
if you haven't already received one).
Ordering after free time expired - Even if you have let the 35 days pass without ordering the program, you can still enable it. Even after the free trial period has passed, you can start the program and see the unique Serial Number so you can use it when you order. You can also see the Password Entry Box so you can enter
the password we send you and enable the program.
Any data you've entered is still there waiting for you.
What you get - When you purchase a seaBILL program, you are buying a single password that gives you a single license for the program on one computer. You are buying the right to USE the program on one computer; you are not buying the program itself. This is standard in the software industry. The password will work on one copy of the program; it will not work to enable more than one copy of the program.
Software package - Whether you order on line, by FAX or send a check in the mail, you still receive a software package containing the program CD,
installation instructions, your invoice, sales slip and various promotional materials. (If you
received a free CD before you purchased, another will not be sent.)
Why send a CD? - The CD is useful if you 'crash' and need to re-install a program
or to look at the user manuals or set up a network. Again, the CD contains the user manual (also available on this web
site for free) and network set up program (also available on this web site for free).
Don't Install from the CD - IF YOU'VE ALREADY INSTALLED THE PROGRAM AND RECEIVED A PASSWORD, YOU DO NOT NEED (OR WANT) TO RE-INSTALL FROM THE CD. Doing so, may cause you to lose your data and will require the issuance of a new password. Instead, simply enter the password
we sent in the box provided for it on the first screen and start using the
program. Keep the CD handy in case you ever need it.
Email support - Free email support for 30 days is included with your order
but you probably won't need it. Very few people ever need support with seaBILL
programs because they are so easy to use, have excellent help systems built in
and because we offer free answers to every support question we've been asked
over the last decade on this web site.
If you do need help, email support inquiries should be sent using the Support Form on the FAQ page of this web site. seaBILL FAQ Info. Telephone support is not available. If you don't have web access
and can't find an answer to your question in the free resources here or built in
to the Help system in the program or in the User Manuals, send a FAX to: (267) 295-8002.
If you have a support question that has not already been addressed in the free resources on the web, the Help system, the User Manual, etc., we'll gladly answer it at no charge even after your free support period has expired. Unlike other billing software companies, we do not try to make money on support. If you have a new question, it helps us help all our users. So, we'll answer it for you
free of charge and immediately post it on our web site for everyone to find at no charge, 7 days a week.
This attitude toward support is one of the many intangible benefits you receive when you deal with seaBILL Co. These intangible benefits make the total cost of ownership for seaBILL
products far less than other
software products.
Password enabling system - We use a password enabling system in order to protect your data and enforce our license. BSA
Pro, Conflict Checker and PORTABLE bsa are database programs (like all similar programs). As such,
these programs store all the data in one file called a database file; if that file is damaged or lost, all the data is lost. This is different from a word processor where, if you lose or damage a file (a document), that is the only file you have lost.
Multiple installations - If you install a database program such
as BSA Pro on multiple computers and then attempt to 'merge' the data, you will corrupt your database or overwrite and lose data. In addition, the license agreement (which is standard in the software industry) limits installation to one copy of the program on one computer.
Even with the network version of BSA Pro or Conflict Checker, the program is only
installed on one computer; the other computers access the program remotely.

So, multiple installation of a seaBILL program is prohibited by the license
agreement and is not necessary.
Serial Number/Password - The password system for seaBILL products generates a new serial number EACH TIME the program is installed. This means that
a password will only work once. Thus, you should be certain you have installed the program on the computer you intend to use it on BEFORE you purchase the program and transmit the serial number. If you want to re-install or move the program to a
different computer after you have entered the password, you
can get a new password.

You do NOT have to enter the password each time you use the program.
Discounts for On Line Orders - Orders placed on line receive a special price discount
because they are easier and cheaper to process. Mail orders are more expensive to handle. If you don't want to order on line, order by FAX: (267) 295-8002 or by mail:

FAX orders now receive the same discounts as on line orders. Mail orders do NOT receive the special discounts.
Credit card - If you don't have a Firm or Company credit card, consider using a personal credit card and getting reimbursed. This way, you can get the on line price discount and the firm still has a paper record of the purchase in the reimbursement check issued to you. seaBILL uses a Secure Server
and we manually review and process all orders so the credit card information is protected
and the charge will be correct.
CD installation - If you prefer not to download but rather to install the program from a CD, you can. When you place your order, in the box for the serial number, simply type "CD Installation Preferred" or something similar.
But, please remember, the programs on the CD are the same ones available for free
download on this web site. There is no advantage to getting the program on
CD. The disadvantage is that you will have to wait for the package to
arrive.
Your order will be processed and shipped by First Class Mail as soon as possible. When you receive
the CD, install the program(s) on the machine you intend to use it on and email the serial number from the upper right of the first screen to sales@seabill.com. We'll email a unique password which you can enter to remove the time limit.
The programs work for 35 days without the password, so it's not normally critical that you get a password immediately after installing the program.
Refunds - Refunds are not offered after a password has been issued. There is no reliable way to insure the software has been disabled once the password has been issued. Software is not like a widget you can return if you don't like it. Once a software program has been fully enabled, you can continue using it even if you don't pay for it.
This is why stores will not refund the purchase price for returned software that's been opened.
Unlike stores, however, we offer free, functional, evaluation copies of our programs. This way you can try our programs BEFORE you buy them. If one of our programs doesn't work for you,
simply delete it from your computer.
But, once a password is issued, there is no way to guarantee the program has been removed. So, refunds aren't offered once the password has been issued.
Please note that we reserve the right to refuse to grant a license to anyone for any reason.
